In our community, fishing enthusiasts have a trio of serene spots to cast their lines and enjoy the peaceful waters. While we can't guarantee you'll catch dinner, our lakes are traditionally stocked with the following:
- Roberts Lake, nestled in the heart of town, is a well-stocked gem boasting an array of fish, including Largemouth Bass, Blue Gill, Sunfish, Black Crappie, Channel Catfish, and Rainbow Trout. It's the perfect place for an afternoon of relaxation and reeling in a great catch from its shore.
- Berthoud Reservoir offers another prime fishing location where anglers can find Black Crappie, Sunfish, Largemouth Bass, and the ever-popular Rainbow Trout. The reservoir's tranquil setting makes it an ideal spot for families and seasoned anglers. Please note that fishing is only allowed on the west portion of the reservoir. Access to the eastern cell of the reservoir is prohibited.
- Pioneer Park's pond is not stocked but does have small fish. It is nestled in a neighborhood for easy access by bike.
While we encourage the community to take advantage of these amenities, it is important to know that a fishing license is required if you're 16 or older. A license can be acquired by calling 800-244-5613, visiting Colorado Parks & Wildlife, cpw.state.co.us, or visiting Bennett's Bait & Tackle right here in town. Happy fishing, Berthoud!
