7th Annual Arbor Day Poster Contest
Town of Berthoud's 7th Annual Arbor Day Poster Contest
The contest is closed, and the calendars have been printed!
They are currently for available for free at Town Hall's front desk and will be available at
Berthoud Elementary and Ivy Stockwell in January.
Arbor Day is a special day dedicated to celebrating the significant benefits that trees provide. Trees use sunlight to synthesize food (sugar) from carbon dioxide and water – a process called photosynthesis – producing the byproduct oxygen that ultimately allows us to breathe fresh air. Trees provide other important benefits for us and our environment, including reduced pollution and stormwater runoff and lower energy demands from their shade, habitat, and food for wildlife. They are also really beautiful.
This Arbor Day Poster Contest is intended for students in grades 3-5 to use their imagination and creativity to create a poster that reflects the importance of Arbor Day and what makes trees so special. This year's theme is "Trees & Their Friends".
- All entries must be original work created by students in grades 3-5.
- A student may enter the contest only once.
- The student’s first and last name, school, grade, and guardian contact information must be included in the submission.
- Entries should be hand-made and done in crayon, colored pencil, or marker.
- Collages, computer/photo-generated art, and printing will not be accepted.
- Glued-on additives (e.g., leaves, twigs, etc.) or glitter will not be accepted.
