William Karspeck grew up in Berthoud and as a result has a very personal tie to the Town and its future. He finds the easy access to uncrowded outdoor recreation is unparalleled in the entire Front Range and represents one of the primary benefits of living in Berthoud. William also finds the modest size of Berthoud fosters close relationships among residents and those who do business here. His parents live in the area and are active in the community. The atmosphere of civic service was a consistent element in his family life. This has led to his belief that local government can have great impact and directly improve people's lives. William is guided by Wendell Berry's quote "We do not inherit the world from our ancestors, we borrow it from our children." William holds a Bachelor's in Communications Studies from Colorado State University and finds that his experience working in local government has allowed him to interact with a variety of departments, giving him insight on how a city runs. He plans to bring this experience to his time as Trustee.

May Soricelli is a Colorado native who planted roots in Berthoud 7 years ago. As a first responder family, May serves the community as the Public Relations Officer for Berthoud Fire, and her husband serves as a Sheriff’s Deputy. They have three children who love growing up in their historical home in Berthoud. May also worked at the local newspaper, where she met many diverse and exceptional members of the community and became an award-winning journalist. She has lovingly served on the Historical Society Board and has immersed herself in the rich history and culture of our town. Her family attends Grace Place Church, where their oldest daughter volunteers, and their son is in a local cub scout troop. Soricelli’s ambition as a board member is to bring her collective servant leadership experience to the table to advocate for members of the community and proactively preserve Berthoud’s unique character.

Lonnie Stevens moved to Colorado in 1973, graduated Niwot High school in 1977, and has lived on the Front Range ever since. He and his wife became empty nesters in 2016 and returned “home” to Berthoud.

Learning upholstery from his dad as a child, Lonnie owned a shop in the early 80s. He spent over10 years in retail management. Working at UPS, he returned to school for electronics technology, securing employment at KN Energy natural gas. In 1997, he was hired as a machinist, finally landing at Rapid Production Tooling where he’s worked for the past 20 years.  From 2003-2008, he also owned and was an instructor of a martial arts school.

Lonnie married Kathy Geminden in 1984 and together they have four children: Jennifer, Julie, Jared and Joshua. Lonnie hopes his varied work experience and hands-on learning style will help him as Trustee, adding a perspective that will help Berthoud maintain its small-town charm for as long as possible. Above all else, he wants to listen and LEARN.
