Berthoud Forestry Programs Intended to Assist Homeowners in Managing Street Trees
Emerald Ash Borer Cost Share Program
The Emerald Ash Borer Cost Share Program is intended to assist Berthoud property owners in managing ash (Fraxinus spp.) trees located in street rights-of-way (“tree lawns”). The Forestry Department will assist property owners by contributing up to 50% of treatment cost (not to exceed $200/tree) for a total of two (2) trees; additional trees, within tree lawns, may be treated at the full expense of the property owner at the Town’s contracted price. Applications can be found online under the forestry page and must be completed and turned in by Friday, May 29, 2020 at 4:00pm at the Parks & Recreation office (100 10th Street, Berthoud, CO 80513). Please note late applications will not be accepted and applications will be on a first come, first serve basis.
Street Tree Replacement Program
The Town of Berthoud Street Tree Replacement Program is intended to assist Berthoud property owners in replacing trees that have been removed within street rights-of-way (“tree lawns”). Property owners, or the owner’s designee, may qualify and apply for this program which is intended only for trees located in tree lawns; trees that reside on private property do not qualify. Replacement trees and tree installation will be provided by the Forestry Department at no cost to the property owner. After tree installment, property owners become fully responsible for the maintenance and care of the tree(s). This program is a first come, first serve basis as time and budget allows. Applications can be found online under the forestry page and must be turned in at the Parks & Recreation office (100 10th Street, Berthoud, CO 80513).
