Plans underway for Berthoud’s new recreation center
The Town of Berthoud is moving forward with plans for the proposed recreation center in Waggener Farm Park. The center will enter the design development phase as soon as the full scope of the project is determined.
At this time, costs are estimated at between $27 million and $34 million, a range primarily reflecting the difference between an indoor competition and lifestyle pool, and an outdoor lifestyle pool—features that are still being discussed. Finalizing the project scope will allow staff and the consulting team to begin additional value analysis work to create the most cost-effective project possible.
The next phase of planning will include timelines, funding proposals and construction estimates.
In addition to the proposed aquatic amenities, park features to look forward to include:
- Trails with regional trail connections
- Fitness areas
- Community meeting rooms
- Multi-purpose fields to accommodate soccer, flag football, t-ball, etc.
- Outdoor sport courts, including basketball, tennis and pickleball
- Outdoor gathering spaces
