With a storm in this week's weather forecast for Berthoud, it's important to remember to remove snow and ice from the sidewalks adjacent to your property.

Section 15.12 of the Berthoud Municipal Code requires that snow and ice be removed within 24 hours of when snow has stopped accumulating. Shoveling snow as soon as possible will make the job easier and prevent ice from building up beneath the snow.

Shoveling snow onto grass as opposed to into the street will help the vegetation with additional moisture and will also help to avoid having the snow being pushed back onto the sidewalk by a snow plow.
