Who is LETA?
LETA, the Larimer Emergency Telephone Authority, is a partnership between 25 government safety agencies of Larimer County.
LETA is the 9-1-1 Governing Authority in Larimer County.
LETA focuses on 9-1-1 emergency communications to make Larimer County emergency alerts consistent and effective.
What is the emergency alert system?
The system allows residents of Larimer County to sign up for FREE emergency alerts on their cell phones, work phone, text message, email, home phone, etc.
Residents can choose the locations they want to be contacted about, as long as those locations are within the boundaries of Larimer County.
When will it be used?
The system will be used to notify residents about imminent threats to life and property.
Public Safety officials will send alerts about emergencies such as wildfire, flood, gas leaks or critical police activity.
Can I sign up to receive weather alerts?
Yes, residents can choose to sign up for FREE weather alerts.
The National Weather Service automatically sends weather alerts through the emergency alert system.
How do I sign up?
If you have a traditional landline phone, that number will automatically be entered through our database.
To register your other devices you must sign up online at www.leta911.org or you can call LETA at 970.962.2170 and we will help you with the sign up process.
What if my contact information changes?
The system is only as good as the information you provide. If any of your personal information changes, you must go to www.leta911.org to update the information.
Will my contact information be shared with others?
No, the information that you provide will be used for emergency purposes only.
LETA will not give or sell your telephone numbers or e-mail addresses.
