Library Board
The Berthoud Public Library Board Bylaws assign the following powers and responsibilities to the Board:
- Adopt by-laws, policies, rules, and regulations to provide guidance and government for the library.
- Have supervision, care and custody of all library property.
- Employ a library director.
- Submit an annual budget including sums necessary to operate and maintain the library during the ensuing year.
- Accept gifts for library purposes.
- Authorize the bonding of persons entrusted with library funds.
- Submit financial records for audit.
- Do all other tasks necessary for the orderly and efficient management and control of the library.
- Have all powers and duties authorized by state law.
- Authorize the purchase of library material and equipment on the recommendation of the Director.
- Have the authority to enter into contracts.
The Board consists of seven members, one Town Board Liaison and one staff representative as follows:

The Staff representative for the Library Board is Library Director Sara Wright.
The Town Board Liaison for the Library Board is Mayor Tom Patterson.
The Board meets on the fourth Thursday of each month at the Berthoud Public Library.
