Flat Marker Section

The purpose of a flat marker section in a cemetery is to reduce costs for maintenance. Because of this reduction, the fee for perpetual care is less than what is charged for the upright section of the cemetery.

Memorabilia can be placed on gravesites in the flat marker section from October 1 to March 31.

In order to reduce our maintenance costs in our flat marker sections, from April 1 through September 30, Greenlawn Cemetery does not allow artificial flowers, potted plants, statues, vases or any other type of memorabilia except for Memorial Day. Memorabilia may be placed on flat marker sites from three days before Memorial Day through the third day after the holiday. At that time, any memorabilia left on the flat marker grave sites will be removed. We are not responsible for returning any items that have been left beyond three days after Memorial Day.

Fresh flowers can be placed on a grave site if they can be swept into the grass and mowed over.
