Wastewater Department

Public Works - Wastewater

The Wastewater Department is responsible for the proper operation of the wastewater treatment plant and compliance with all State and EPA regulations. They also maintain the lift stations currently in use in the Town and service areas of unicorporated Larimer County adjacent to the Town of Berthoud.

The Town has one main treatment plant with four surrounding lift stations to serve the Town's wastewater needs. The Wastewter plant was completed in 2004 and replaced a facility built in 1971. The new treatment plant can treat up to 3 million gallons per day using a conventional activated sludge treatment process with aerobic sludge digestion. The bio-solids from the facility are land applied for beneficial use.
